What is Pilates?

The Pilates method of conditioning started over 80 years ago by a man named Joseph Pilates. The workouts are therapeutic in nature by focusing on developing good posture, balance, coordination, strength, flexability, and mental focus. There is emphasis placed on developing strong abdominal and back muscles while aligning and supporting the spine. With over 500 exercises designed to build balanced strength and a rock solid core, Pilates workouts are used by those rehabilitating from injuries, fitness enthusiasts, athletes of all levels, and anyone seeking a safe, yet challenging exercise routine.
